Murray Theron
Performer, Composer, Producer
Apart from performing at weddings and functions (as soloist, accompanied by keyboard player or with a Jazz Band), Murray continually collaborates with many musicians on a wide range of artistic music projects. He currently composes and produces music ranging from Jazz to Folk and World music to Electronica.
Current projects include: Composing and performing Folk music; performing with an Art-rock band, (Boabab), Producing and performing atmospheric music with Visual Artists and Word-Artists, Film scoring; Composing for- and performing with theatre groups, Composing electronic music and performing in an electronic music ensemble.
Murray plays the following instruments:
He has performed at Tanz Cafe, Blues Room, Foundry Fly Lounge and Cafe Barcelona where South African greats like Piet Botha, Jan Blohm perform on a regular basis.
Murray also teaches Saxophone at Pretoria Boys High
In collaboration with Phillip Loggenberg, musician and producer for Montana
Music & Media, Murray composes and produces songs specifically for
the wedding market, including personalised songs for birthdays and anniversaries.
